Calella de Palafrugell, Catalonia, Spain
Calella de Palafrugell, typical of the villages along the Costa
Brava, and in times gone by a fishing village. It is surrounded by cliffs, beautiful
coves lapped by transparent waters and abundant vegetation.
Why not visit
- Church of St. Pere de Calella (1884)
- Tower of Calella, a defence tower, built in the 16th Century,
which is a hotel today;
- Calella de Palafrugell or the building Sa Perola (19th Century)
which is now the Tourism Office.
- South of Calella, at Golfet, is the “Jardín
Botánico de Cap Roig” (Botanical Garden), from where you can
view the coast from Calella to the Cliffs of Cap Roig.
- The Promenade with the fishermens' houses passes the beach
which was a natural harbour in the past with fishing boats pulled up onto
it.
- Walk along the “Camino de Ronda”, that goes from
Calella to Llafranc, and from Sant Roc to the Golfet, it runs along the sea,
and gives you the opportunity to take in the wonderful views around Calella
de Palafrugell
