Santa Pola is a fishing town with 15 kms of coastline most of it with sandy beaches, and safe for swimming, diving and other water sports. The resort has 6 main beaches, all with golden sand plus a working fishing port and marina. It holds the Blue Flag for several of its beaches.
Between the Cape and the port are Levante Beach, the Santiago Bernabeu Calas (coves), Varadero Beach, Calas de Santa Pola del Este beaches. These are all protected from the northern winds by the hills. Calas del Cap and Bancal de la Areana have beautiful surroundings. Apromenade runs along the coast here
Boats sail between the Santa Pola port and Tabarca Isle which is some three kilometres away. The marina offers numerous water sports including sailing, fishing and regattas. The Santa Pola Nautical Club has a rowing, sailing and canoeing school.
Further to the south there are four lively urban beaches. Playa Lissa, Tamarit and Gran Playa have golden sand plus safe shallow waters.
